An interesting advanced stats look at the UNC-Notre Dame game...Assignments, as always, will be key to defending Georgia Tech...A capsule look at the matchup--the Jackets lead the nation in third-down conversion percentage, so keep an eye on that stat...Chase Rice will perform at the ACC Fan Fest before the league title game on Dec. 6...Saturday's uniforms:

Basketball
The preseason coaches poll has Carolina No. 6...The visit to Iowa helped Harrison Barnes clear his head. Barnes had five points, but another Tar Heel stole the show--James Michael McAdoo had 20 points in 20 minutes. McAdoo, who has been Twitterless for quite some time, is finally on board. Ty Lawson had 10 assists for the Nuggets in that game...Brandan Wright is facing a pivotal year in Dallas...Terrific news: Brad Daugherty will be back on ESPN calling college games...NBA Hang Time followed Rick Fox back to Chapel Hill...Tyler Zeller had 14 points and seven boards off the bench for Boston...Cool to see Ed Davis learning from James Worthy in this video of Worthy's visit to Lakers practice:
And here's a feature on McAdoo from the Warriors:
Love this photo Jawad Williams posted on Instagram yesterday from the 100 years celebration, but the real highlight is in the comments, where a handful of Tar Heels do battle on the eternal 2005 vs. 2009 question:

Olympic sports
Men's soccer hits the road at NC State (maybe they can stop by the fair?) tonight...Bike to Uganda was a success again this year...Looks like the Diamond Heels had a fun team-building day:
