UNC Visits BC For Friday Night ACC Tilt

North Carolina (10-4, 4-2 ACC) has strung together a five-match winning streak over the last three weeks, outscoring its opponents by a 16-2 margin. In fact, since falling behind 2-0 to Clemson on Oct. 3, the Tar Heels have scored 16 unanswered goals during this successful five-game stretch.
With only two conference matches remaining, the fight for the division titles are up-for-grabs with six clubs (three in each division) separated by a total of only three points.
Carolina has 12 points to its credit, one off Coastal Division-leading Notre Dame, while Virginia sits third with 10 points. The Tar Heels and Cavaliers will square off in the season finale Saturday, Nov. 1 in Chapel Hill.
In the Atlantic, Clemson, Louisville and Syracuse are all tied atop the division with 12 points.
Earlier in the week, UNC sophomore midfielder Omar Holness landed on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week after scoring the game winner last Friday in the 1-0 victory at NC State. He also earned an assist in the 4-0 win over Georgia State last Tuesday night in Chapel Hill.
Senior forward Andy Craven continues to lead the ACC with eight goals, and is tied with Syracuse's Emil Ekblom for the most game winners with six apiece. He also remains second in the league with 18 points.
Classmate Rob Lovejoy tops the club and sits second in the conference with eight assists in 2014. His 12 points tied for eighth in the ACC.
Senior keeper Brendan Moore has four-straight clean sheets entering Friday night, helping lower is goals-against-average to 0.85, the fourth-best mark in the ACC. He is second in the league with eight shutouts.
UNC hosts Georgia Southern Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Fetzer Field.
