Carolina Draws 0-0 With Maryland
April 7, 2014 | Men's Soccer
The Tar Heels performed well against the Terrapins, creating a variety of dangerous scoring opportunities but could not ultimately capitalize on those chances.
The two teams played a 2-2 draw last fall in Chapel Hill in the final match as fellow members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Maryland will join the Big Ten in July.
The team had a true student-athlete experience during the journey to our nation's capital. After the spring match, the Tar Heels enjoyed an MLS game, featuring DC United and New England Revolution, at RFK Stadium.
On Sunday, the team had the opportunity to check out Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder. Later the group checked out the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the White House.
Carolina will finish up its spring campaign at Wake Forest on Saturday, April 12 at 5 p.m., from Spry Stadium.
