Olympic sports
The third-ranked men's soccer team won its ACC opener, dominating Pitt 3-0 on Friday.
Volleyball went 3-0 while hosting the Carolina Classic with wins over Georgia Southern and VCU, plus a victory over Kentucky:
Ben Griffin won his first individual title and the men's golf team won its Tar Heel Invitational at Finley...Congrats also to former men's golfer Dustin Bray, who won an eGolf Tour event on Saturday...A sense of normalcy has returned to the women's basketball program...Hayley Carter paced the women's tennis team at Duke's tournament.

Congrats to Robert Quinn for his big contract extension (with over $41 million guaranteed) with the Rams, and then he went out and had three tackles, including one for loss...Da'Norris Searcy had five tackles, including one for loss...Bruce Carter, who is trying to live up to lofty expectations in Dallas, had a tackle...Brandon Tate had a 50-yard reception, plus a 29-yard kick return...Gio Bernard rushed 27 times for 90 yards and a touchdown, plus caught five passes for 79 yards. The 169 yards from scrimmage were a career high...Eric Ebron caught three passes for 38 yards...Quinton Coples notched a sack.

Mike Morin has been very effective for the Angels, but thinks he can be better...Rob Wooten gave up one run in one inning for the Brewers...Kyle Seager had two hits...Andrew Miller struck out three of the four hitters he faced and has been key for the Baltimore bullpen:
