Former Golfer Dustin Bray Wins eGolf Tour Event

GULFPORT, MISS. - Former North Carolina golfer Dustin Bray won the eGolf Tour Island View Casino Championship on Saturday. Bray carded a 24-under-par 264 total to finish three strokes ahead of Brandon Smith's 267. Bray fired rounds of 8-under 64, 6-under 66, 6-under 66 and 4-under 68 to win the four-day event which was played Wednesday through Sunday at the par-72 Windance Country Club.
Bray, who played for the Tar Heels 2001-04, is the winningest golfer in UNC history with seven victories to his credit. The Asheboro, N.C. native was a four-time All-ACC selection, winning the conference championship in 2002. A semifinalist at the 2002 U.S. Amateur, Bray was named to the 2002-03 PING All-America first team, the 2001-02 PING All-America second team and was an honorable mention selection in 2003-04. He represented the United States at the 2003 Palmer Cup and at the 2002 U.S./Japan matches.
Bray carded two additional top-10 finishes this year, tying for 3rd place at the NorthStone Open and tying for 8th place at the Willow Creek Open.
