Campbell, a senior defender from Greensboro, N.C., earns his third-straight mention on the all-district team. The Tar Heel team captain was a 2014 first team Academic All-America selection. He has compiled a 3.92 grade-point-average as business administration major.
Campbell has started all 16 matches for Carolina this season. He ranks second on the team with four assists and has scored one goal in his final campaign with the Tar Heels.
October, a sophomore midfielder from Cambridge, England, lands on the all-district team in his first year of eligibility for the award.
October has started 15 games and played in all 16 matches for the 14-1-1 Tar Heels. He has handed out three assists in his second season in Chapel Hill.
By virtue of being named to the all-district first team, both Campbell and October will be on the national Academic All-America ballot.
No. 5 Carolina visits 13th-ranked Virginia on Friday at 7 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va.
