Wilson Earns U-20 USMNT Call-Up

The squad lost to Germany in the tournament opener on Oct. 6, but has two remaining games against Scotland on Oct. 9 and Mexico on Oct. 12. Wilson started against Germany on Tuesday and played the opening 45 minutes.
Wilson, from Bethlehem, Pa., has extensive National Team experience beginning with U-14 and on through his duties with the U-18 team. He spend two seasons with the Philadelphia Union Academy before joining the Tar Heels this fall.
The U-20s were last on the pitch in August, when they travelled to Serbia to compete in the Stevan Vilotic-Cele Tournament; the team finished in fifth place. Martin Salas, a classmate of Wilson at Carolina was on that team, started one match and played as a reserve in two other games.
No. 2 North Carolina (9-0-1) returns to action this Saturday by hosting Syracuse on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Fetzer Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and will begin at 7 p.m.
