Chapel Hill, N.C. -- The Navy squad jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings before Blue fought back to tie the score at 5-5 in a seven-inning scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Navy scored three runs in the first on an error, a failed pick-off attempt and Adam Pate's RBI bunt single. Navy then took a 4-0 lead in the second on Tyler Ramirez's run-scoring single.
Logan Warmoth's RBI single gave Blue its first run in the third. Navy responded with a run of their own in the fourth when Landon Lassiter scored on a fielder's choice for a 5-1 Navy lead.
Blue scored one run in the fifth on a Brooks Kennedy double to left before tying the scrimmage with a three-run sixth. Adrian Chacon had a solo homer to left, a run scored on a failed pick-off attempt, then Kennedy's second RBI of the day on a single to center tied the score.
Hunter Williams and A.J. Bogucki were the two starters. Nick Raquet, Trevor Kelley, Zach Rice, Spencer Trayner and Reilly Hovis all threw in relief.
Carolina will hold its next closed scrimmage on Tuesday.
