Four Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. –The University of North Carolina placed four players on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference softball teams, announced Thursday by the conference office.
Kristen Brown and Taylor Wike are All-ACC First Team selections.
Brown picks up her third straight All-ACC honor and second consecutive nod to the first team. The junior leads the conference in home runs with 22 to go along with 65 RBI and a .877 slugging percentage.
Wike is one of three freshmen named to the first team after pacing the ACC with a .451 batting average and a .589 on-base percentage.
Seniors Amber Parrish and Lauren Walker each earned spots on the All-ACC Second Team.
Parrish, also a member of the 2013 All-ACC Second Team, is second in the conference in home runs with 17 and a slugging percentage of .782 and is sixth in RBI with 51.
Lauren Walker is enjoying a breakout senior season as she sits third on the team and seventh in the ACC with a .385 batting average as well as sixth in the conference in slugging percentage at .712.
Ten schools were represented on the 2015 All-ACC Teams, led by Florida State and Notre Dame with six representatives apiece. North Carolina had four, while Louisville, NC State and Pitt had three honorees each. Syracuse had two while Boston College, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech each had one representative.
