
Nine Tar Heels Earn Rowing Academic Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Nine members of the North Carolina rowing team have been named CRCA (Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association) National Scholar-Athletes in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
To be honored, a student-athlete must have carried a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better through the 2014 fall semester. She also must have earned a spot in one of the team's varsity boats for at least 75 percent of the spring 2015 races.
Those honored were:
• Alexis Amato, sophomore, Easton, Pa., Health Policy and Management
• Sarah Eastley, senior, Cary, N.C., English
• Kate Elliott, sophomore, Winston-Salem, N.C., Business Administration
• Taylor Kenan, junior, Berwyn, Pa., Business Administration
• Allie Martin, sophomore, Greensboro, N.C., Mathematical Decision Sciences/Economics
• Victoria McGee, junior, Kernersville, N.C., Exercise and Sport Science
• Sarah Priest, senior, Chapel Hill, N.C., Exercise and Sport Science
• Katherine Summerton, senior, Greenwood Village, Colo., Global Studies
• Shelley Warner, junior, Cary, N.C., Nutrition
This was the third year in a row that Priest has earned the CRCA honor. The others were recognized for the first time.
