Men's Soccer Hosts Winthrop Friday Night

CHAPEL HILL - The North Carolina men's soccer team will host Winthrop in an exhibition match on Friday at Fetzer Field beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free to all spectators.
Selected No. 5 in the preseason NSCAA poll, Carolina has pieced together another competitive exhibition schedule in preparation for the 2015 season.
Winthrop was picked second in the Big South, and the Eagles boast preseason Attacking Player of the Year in junior Max Hasenstab, who tied for the Big South lead in 2014 with 12 goals.
The Tar Heels continue their run up to the regular season with a Blue/White Scrimmage on Sunday night at 11 p.m. as part of the annual UNC FallFest, the unofficial kick-off to the new school year.
Carolina will also host Davidson on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m., before visiting Big South favorite Coastal Carolina on Saturday, Aug 22 down in Conway, S.C.
