Tar Heel Sophomore To Compete at Women's TRANS Amateur

YAKIMA, Wash. – Rising sophomore Lexi Harkins will compete in the 2015 Women's TRANS Amateur Championship starting on Monday. The tournament will span four days, possibly five with interference from the weather, and will be a four round stroke play championship.
The championship will be held in Yakima, Wash., at the Yakima Country Club. The course features a par 72, 6,500-yard layout from the black tees. After two rounds the field will be cut to the top 60 with ties.
Harkins had her best finishes in the last three tournaments of the spring season, including the ACC Championships where she finished 1-under. Harkins is a native of Crystal Lake, Ill., and had the team's fourth-best stroke average during the 2014-2015 golf season.
