• Isaiah Hicks tied his career scoring high with 21 points and set his rebounding high with eight. He scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half.
• Hicks is the fifth different Tar Heel this season to score 20 points this season. He was 5 for 5 from the floor and 11 for 13 from the free throw line.
• Brice Johnson followed up his 39-point game at Florida State with 16 points and a career-high 8 assists (previous high was four vs Oakland his sophomore year).
• The Tar Heels shot 64.3 percent as a team in second half. It was the second straight game UNC was better than 60 percent shooting on the road in the decisive half.
• Carolina scored 45 points in its previous trip to Syracuse in 2014. It scored 51 in the second half tonight.
• Marcus Paige made one field goal (for the first time since the UNCG game last year) but handed out a season-high 8 assists and had 6 rebounds.
• Justin Jackson had 16 points, his most in 11 games (since Kansas State). He missed shootaround Saturday afternoon with an illness and was a gametime decision to play.
• Joel Berry II had his eighth straight game scoring in double figures with 14 and four assists, four steals and no turnovers. He hit a huge three-pointer with 6:07 to play.
• UNC has shot 50 percent or better from floor in five straight games and 13 of 17 games this year.
• The Tar Heels have shot 50 percent or better in the second half in 13 of 17 games this year, including five games in a row and 22 of the last 27 games.
• Kennedy Meeks scored eight points in 14 minutes in his first game since December 12th. He is now four points shy of 800 for his career.
