Navy Takes A 7-3 Win In Game Two Of FWS

Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Navy squad jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on for a 7-3 win in game two of the Fall World Series on Saturday afternoon at a sun-drenched Boshamer Stadium.
A Cody Roberts run-scoring single drove in Michael Busch to give Navy a a 1-0 lead in the third. Navy then tacked on four more runs in the sixth. Kyle Datres made it 3-0 with a bases-loaded, two-run single. Laney Orr then drove in a run with a sacrifice fly before Ike Freeman made it 5-0 with an RBI single. Adam Pate's two-run homer to left made it 7-0 in the seventh.
Blue responded with three runs in the eighth. Brandon Riley drew a bases-loaded walk to give Blue its first run. Logan Warmoth then drove in a run with a sacrifice fly before another run scored on an error for the final 7-3 margin.
Adam Pate led Navy's offense by going 3-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Kyle Datres was 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Cody Roberts was 2-5 with one RBI, whle Aaron Greenfield was 2-4 with two runs scored.
Brandon Martorano was 2-4 with one run scored for Blue. Josh Ladowski was also 2-4 with one run scored.
Rodney Hutchison picked up the win by tossing 7.0 scoreless innings while giving up six hits and striking out five. Luca Dalatri suffered the loss despite giving up just one run in 5.0 innings of work. J.T. Rogoszewski, Teddy Sabato and Tyler Baum also threw.
The final game of the Fall World Series will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
