Pyle Earns ACC Award For Shutout Of Syracuse

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina goalkeeper James Pyle was named ACC Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week along with fellow net minders Zimo Miralles of Clemson and Jeff Caldwell of Virginia.
Clemson's Diego Campos has been named Offensive Player of the Week.
Pyle, a redshirt sophomore from Charlotte, North Carolina, made five saves and kept No. 3 Syracuse off the scoreboard in 110 minutes of action for his ACC-leading sixth clean sheet of 2016.
Pyle is third in the league in save percentage (.867) and fourth in goals against average (0.43).
The goaltending trio of Miralles, Pyle, and Caldwell all posted shutouts against ranked conference opponents last weekend.
No. 4 North Carolina (7-1-) hosts 20th-ranked UNCW on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
