Cam Lindley Selected TDS Freshman Of The Year

TopDrawerSoccer has named North Carolina midfielder Cam Lindley its 2016 Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year. Lindley also earned third team Best XI honors and Mauricio Pineda was selected to the Freshman Best XI first team.
Lindley finished his freshman season with seven assists in starting all 21 matches for the Tar Heels, while Pineda had four goals and one assist after making 16 starts and 21 appearances.
From Carmel, Indiana, Lindley has earned numerous awards this season, including Freshman of the Year and first team honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Earlier this week he was named a second team All-America by the NSCAA.
North Carolina (14-3-4) finished the season ranked No. 4 nationally by the NSCAA. The Tar Heels reached the College Cup and won the ACC Coastal Division to earn the No. 1 seed in the ACC Championship.
