
#3 UNC Tops Blue Devils To Remain Unbeaten In ACC

The victory gives North Carolina (20-2) a perfect 8-0 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Duke falls to 6-2 in the league.
North Carolina flexed its muscle in doubles with a quick result it its favor. Top ranked Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay was first off, winning 6-3 over 14th-ranked Beatrice Capra and Samantha Harris.
No. 65 Jessie Aney and Kate Vialle clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Alyssa Smith and Chalena Scholl on court two.
In singles action, Duke's Harris evened the score at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Vialle on court four.
No. 1 Carter answered back with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win over No. 28 Beatrice Capra, putting UNC back up 2-1 over the Blue Devils.
No. 29 Kay showed great resilience in winning in straight sets over No. 92 Scholl. Kay trailed in both sets, but rallied for a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win to make it 3-1 Tar Heels.
Ouellet-Pizer wound up clinching the match for the Heels with a 7-5, 6-4 win No. 78 Ellyse Hamlin.
The match was stopped with Aney and Marika Akkerman up a set on courts three and six, respectively.
Carolina is back home against Louisville on Saturday at 11 a.m.
