North Carolina (24-2, 12-0 ACC) heads into the final week of the regular season unbeaten in the conference with a two-win cushion over second place Duke, Miami and Georgia Tech.
Before the match, seniors Ashley Dai, Whitney Kay and Kate Vialle were honored for their service to the program and the University. The victory gives the trio a 48-3 record within the ACC over the last four seasons.
Dai and freshman Chloe Ouellet were first to post a doubles win, 6-1, while top-ranked Hayley Carter and Kay soon followed with a 6-4 victory to give UNC an early 1-0 advantage over the Eagles.
Ouellet-Pizer was awarded a victory by walkover to quickly put Carolina in the driver seat up 2-0. Vialle lost the opening set on court four and retired from her match to give Boston College a victory.
Dai cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win on court six to make it 3-1, and Kay clinched the Tar Heel victory in straight sets on court two.
No. 1-ranked Carter took down 80th-ranked Asiya Dair on court one, and No. 62 Aney finished off the Eagles for the 6-1 victory.
