April 14, 2016 | Men's Tennis
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina men's tennis team will host Georgia Tech Friday afternoon for the final home match of the regular season. UNC will celebrate Senior Day, honoring four players who are wrapping up their Carolina careers this spring.
Match time is 3 p.m. and there is no charge for admission to Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels come into the Atlantic Coast Conference match ranked No. 5 nationally, with a record of 22-3 overall and 7-3 in conference play. Georgia Tech, ranked 30th, is 15-6 overall and 8-3 in ACC play.
Carolina's seniors are Brett Clark, Connor Daly, Stuart DePaolo and Andrew Gores. While all have been important members of the program for the past four years, it's Clark, from Naples, Fla. who has put together one of the finest careers in program history. He has already surpassed 100 career wins in both singles and doubles and is currently ranked second nationally in doubles, with sophomore Robert Kelly, and 47th nationally in singles.
UNC closes out the regular season with a match on Sunday at Duke. The ACC Championship is set for April 20-24 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
