Conference Recognizes Tar Heel Standouts

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Four members of the UNC men's tennis team have earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors for the 2016 season, as announced Thursday by the league. Juniors Ronnie Schneider and Brayden Schnur were named to the first team, each for the third year in a row. Senior Brett Clark was named to the second team for the third year in a row. Sophomore Robert Kelly earned the first All-ACC honor of his UNC career with a spot on the third team.
UNC was the only program to place two members on the nine-player All-ACC first team.
Georgia Tech's Christopher Eubanks was selected as ACC Player of the Year and Wake Forest's Petros Chrysochos was named ACC Freshman of the Year. Wake's Tony Bresky was named Coach of the Year after guiding his program to its first-ever conference championship.
The All-ACC Team and individual season honors were selected by a vote of the league's 13 head coaches. The three teams have representatives from 12 of the institutions, led by Virginia's six selections. UNC and Virginia Tech each had four players voted All-ACC, while NC State and Wake Forest each had three honorees. Florida State, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame had to All-ACC selections, and there was one honoree each for Clemson, Duke, Miami and Louisville.
