Tar Heels Scrimmage On Sunday Afternoon
September 4, 2016 | Baseball
Chapel Hill, N.C. - The North Carolina Tar Heels held their second scrimmage of the Fall on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Since it was situational, there is no official score.
Zack Gahagan blasted a home run to left, while Ike Freeman added a triple to right center. Brandon Martorano and Adam Pate each had a double, while Pate had two stolen bases. Freeman went 2-3 as he was the only player with multiple hits.
Carolina used four pitchers. Rodney Hutchison and Tyler Baum started, with Zach Attianese and Teddy Sabato throwing in relief. Hutchison induced four strike outs in 2.0 innings.
The Heels will hold their next closed scrimmage on Labor Day morning. GoHeels is your source for all of Carolina's Fall scrimmages, which will end with the always fun Fall World Series.
