October 13, 2017 | Field Hockey, Carolina Outreach
UNC is raising funds to fight pediatric cancers
The North Carolina field hockey team has designated its Oct. 20 matchup with Duke as its annual Vs. Cancer Game, and Tar Heels are raising money for the fight against pediatric cancers. All funds collected will support UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Â
"Our team wanted to get involved because Vs. Cancer is such a great organization, and this is a way for us to tangibly give back to a part of the UNC community," said Morgan Goetz, a junior defender who is majoring in biomedical engineering. Â "UNC Lineberger does such amazing work, and we really wanted to help aid their fight against childhood cancer."
