Former Tar Heels Begin LPGA Q-School Stage II

VENICE, Calif. - Former Tar Heels Leslie Cloots, Catherine O'Donnell and Maia Schechter will begin competition in the LPGA and Symetra Tour Qualifying School Stage II as they work to gain LPGA Tour membership. The 72-hole stroke play competition will take place at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Calif., through Sunday, October 22.Â
Cloots, O'Donnell and Schechter will compete to advance on to the LPGA Qualifying School's Final Stage which will take place at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 27-Dec.3. The field of 190 players will be a cut to 80 and ties, and those that do not advance to the final stage will receive 2017 Symetra Tour status depending on completion of 72 holes.Â
The top 20 finishers at Final Stage of LPGA Qualifying School earn LPGA Tour membership.Â
Play will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m. all four days of competition. The players will rotate through the two courses (Bobcat course and Panther course) over the four days of competition.
