Women's Golf Second In Gators Invitational After 36 Holes

Megan Streicher, Marie Prats-Rigual and Ing Iadpluem all shot rounds below par Saturday to lead the North Carolina to second place after 36 holes in the Florida Gators Invitational at the Mark Bostick University of Florida Golf Course.

Streicher led UNC with a 2-under-par 68, while Prats-Rigual and Iadpluem both carded 1-under 69s. Helen Yeung, who opened with a 69 on Friday, was even on her round today.

The Tar Heels were 4 under today, the second-best round as a team behind the host and tournament-leading Gators, who were a single-stroke better than UNC on Saturday.

Florida (271-275) leads at 14-under 546 with Carolina (282-276) in second place at 2-under 558.
Â
Virginia is third at 1 under, the only team other than Florida and UNC under par through two rounds. Michigan (+17) and Miami (+17) are tied for fourth in the 14-team field.

The Gators' Paula Francisco (68-65) and Siuue Wu (65-69) hold the top-two spots in the individual race at 7 and 6 under, respectively.

Prats-Rigual (70-69) and Yeung (69-70) are tied for sixth at 1 under and Streicher (72-68) and Iadpluem (71-69) are tied for ninth at even par.
