Carolina Notes
• The Tar Heels are 20-4 overall, 8-2 in the ACC and 12-0 at home this year.
• Carolina has won 20 games for the 59th time in school history and the 13th time in 14 seasons under Roy Williams (all except his first year in 2003-04 when UNC won 19).
• Carolina shot 50 percent from the floor, the ninth time this year UNC has shot 50 percent or better. UNC is 8-1 this year when it shoots 50 percent.
• Pitt shot 55.6 percent from the floor, the highest percentage by an opponent this year (previous was .541 by Kentucky).
• The last time a team shot 55 percent against UNC and lost was Notre Dame (.551) in the 2016 NCAA East Regional final in Philadelphia.
• Pitt made 13 three-pointers, most against UNC this year (previous high was 12 by Tulane and Boston College).
• Pitt took 29 threes, the ninth straight game the opponents have attempted 20 or more threes.
• Carolina out-rebounded the Panthers, 31-23, including 15-6 in offensive rebounds.
• Carolina scored 20 second-chance points, the 13th time UNC has scored 20 or more second-chance points. The Tar Heels have won all 13 of those games.
• The Tar Heels have been out-scored 30-15 in points off turnovers in the last two games (16-7 tonight by Pitt)
Tar Heel Player Notes
• Justin Jackson led UNC with 20 points and added six rebounds and three assists. It was his 22nd game in double figures, 12th with 20 or more points and 12th as UNC's leading scorer.
• Jackson has led UNC in scoring in four straight games and eight of the last 11.
• Joel Berry II made five three-pointers and finished with 19 points. It was the third time he made five or more threes in a game
(seven at Clemson, five in previous home game vs. Virginia Tech and five vs. Pitt).
• Jackson and Berry have combined for 18 three-pointers in the last two home games.
• Nate Britt led UNC with four assists, the fifth time this year he led in assists and the first time since the win at Clemson.
Roy Williams Notes
• This is the 27th time in 29 seasons as a head coach that Williams' teams have won 20 games.
• Williams is third among active coaches in 20-win seasons (27) behind only Jim Boeheim and Mike Krzyzewski.
• Williams is sixth all-time with 27 20-win seasons behind only Jim Boeheim (32), Mike Krzyzewski (32), Dean Smith (30),
Bob Knight (29) and Lute Olson (28).
• Williams is 803-213 overall, 385-212 at Carolina and 163-63 in ACC regular-season action.
• Williams is 399-44 at home at KU and UNC and 196-27 at home as UNC's head coach.
• Williams is 12-3 in games against his former assistant coaches (1-1 vs. Kevin Stallings, who was an assistant under Williams for five years at Kansas).
