TALLAHASSEE --- Michael Busch broke up a no-hitter with a game-tying single in the ninth and No. 7 North Carolina scored three times in the 11th to stun No. 8 Florida State 5-2 Saturday night at Dick Howser Stadium. FSU's Tyler Holton pitched seven innings with allowing a hit or a run but the Tar Heels scored five unearned runs off Drew Carlton to secure their second straight series win in Tallahassee.

Holton was sensational for the Seminoles (18-9, 6-5 ACC), striking out eight and allowing just three base runners on three errors before walking Cody Roberts to start the eighth. At 109 pitches, Holton was replaced by Carlton (1-2), who pitched out of trouble to keep it a 2-0 game.

Brett Daniels struck out Drew Mendonza in the bottom of the eighth to set the stage for Busch's heroics in the ninth. FSU kept Carolina in it with its fifth of six errors, and Brandon Riley's sac fly plated Ashton McGee with UNC's first run of the night. Still without a hit and down to their final out, the Tar Heels turned to Busch, who ripped the first pitch he saw from Carlton to right for an RBI single.

Josh Hiatt (1-1) got the last two outs of the ninth and retired the Seminoles in order in the 10th to keep it 2-2. Again in the 11th it was a defensive miscue by FSU that allowed the Tar Heels to take advantage. Riley led off the inning with a single before Tyler Daughtry muffed a throw at second that allowed Zack Gahagan to reach. Two batters later, Cody Roberts singled home Riley to give Carolina (21-6, 8-3 ACC) its first lead of the night.

A Tyler Lynn sac fly and an RBI double from Brian Miller tacked on a pair of insurance runs, and Hiatt worked around a leadoff walk in the FSU 11th to seal the win.

Holton's career night overshadowed another strong outing from UNC freshman right-hander Gianluca Dalatri. Dalatri allowed two runs on five hits in 6.2 innings of work but took his third no-decision in four ACC starts.

Daniels and Hiatt combined for 4.1 shutout innings with seven strikeouts in relief to keep the Tar Heels within striking distance.

Carolina will go for its first road sweep of Florida State Sunday afternoon at 12:30.
