Bukauskas, Warmoth Earn First-Team All-America Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. --- The Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and
National Players of The Year were announced Thursday, and North Carolina juniors J.B. Bukauskas and Logan Warmoth were named to the 17-man first team. Junior Brian Miller was a third-team selection.
Bukauskas, the ACC Pitcher of the Year, enters the NCAA tournament 9-0 with a 2.02 ERA and 111 strikeouts. A native of Ashburn, Virginia, Bukauskas led the Tar Heels to the No. 2 national seed and a 47-12 record ahead of Friday's NCAA opener against Davidson.
Warmoth has had a breakthrough junior season and he leads the Carolina offense with team highs in batting average (.349), slugging (.569), hits (89), runs (59), doubles (19), triples (5) and home runs (9). The Orlando product has also been a stellar defender at shortstop, fielding at a .969 clip with just seven total errors on the year.
Miller has emerged as a star in his first season in center field, combining his elite speed with a power surge in his junior campaign. A career .331 hitter, Miller has posted career highs of 16 doubles, seven homers, 47 RBIs and 22 stolen bases to go with elite outfield defense.
Bukauskas, Warmoth, Miller and the rest of the Tar Heels begin NCAA play Friday at 6 p.m. against Davidson.
