Dalatri Named To USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

DURHAM, N.C. --- North Carolina freshman right-hander Gianluca Dalatri has been added to the 28-man roster for the 2017 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Dalatri, a freshman All-American who went 7-3 with a 3.34 ERA in his debut season at UNC, will participate with the CNT in a pair of series against domestic and international competition.
A native of Wall Township, New Jersey, Dalatri will be with the Collegiate National Team through July 1, during which time the CNT will play teams from the Coastal Plain League before hosting Chinese Taipei. The Chinese Taipei series culminates with a final game at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on July 1. For a full schedule of CNT games, click here.
Dalatri is the third Tar Heels in the last five years to earn a spot on the Collegiate National Team, joining J.B. Bukauskas in 2016 and Skye Bolt in 2013.
The 2017 Collegiate National Team will train at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, and compete in a series of games with teams from the Coastal Plain League from June 20-25. The U.S. will then host international friendship series against Chinese Taipei and Cuba from June 27-July 7, in Cary, Charlotte and Durham, North Carolina.
