Heels Hold Low-Scoring Scrimmage On Friday

Chapel Hill, NC --Â The Navy squad topped the Blue squad 2-1 in a low-scoring scrimmage on Friday afternoon at a sultry Boshamer Stadium. Navy scored both of its runs in the top of the third, while Blue's only run scored in the bottom half of the inning. Each team had five base hits, while Navy committed two errors.
Ike Freeman, who went 2-3 at the plate, was the only player with multiple base hits. Zack Gahagan, Michael Busch and Kyle Datres each had a double.
Four pitchers saw action: Kyle Blendinger, Caden O'Brien, John Dancy and Ben Casparius.
The Tar Heels will hold the always-fun Fall World Series on Oct. 13, 14 and 15.
