UNC Opens With 7-0 Win Over Bucknell

North Carolina opened the 2018 spring season Saturday morning with a 7-0 win over visiting Bucknell. The Tar Heels swept all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 1-0 on the season.
It marked the first collegiate wins for freshmen Benjamin Sigouin and Mac Kiger, who both earned victories in singles and doubles. Sigouin played at No. 1 singles and doubles, and Kiger played at No. 2 doubles and No. 5 singles in their Tar Heel debuts.
UNC returns to action in the afternoon with a 3 p.m. match against Wofford, which took on Bucknell (0-1) following the BU-UNC matchup.
