Carolina Releases Spring Schedule
February 28, 2018 | Men's Soccer
After back-to-back Men's College Cup appearances, the North Carolina men's soccer team returns to the pitch for five matches for its 2018 spring season. The games are part of the inaugural Spring College Program from U.S. Soccer as part of its ongoing efforts to develop world class players, coaches and referees.
The collaborative initiative between U.S. Soccer and the college soccer programs will provide standards-based competition and further player development opportunities for players above the age of 17. The games also provide an additional opportunity for U.S. Soccer Scouts to identify potential U.S. Olympic and National Team players and expand the player pool.
Carolina opens its spring schedule at home on Sunday, March 4 against Clemson in Chapel Hill at 2 p.m.
The Tar Heels will then take a trip to the nation's capital on Saturday, March 24 to take on Georgetown at 3 p.m.
Carolina will be back in Chapel Hill on Saturday, April 7 as face off against Virginia at 2 p.m.
The final two games of spring will take place in Wake Forest with the first being on Saturday, April 14 at 7 p.m. against the home town Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The spring finale is part of a three-match event to close out the U.S. Soccer Spring College Program as the Heels will take on rival Duke on Saturday, April 21 at a time to be announced.
All home games in Chapel Hill will be played on the grass fields South Finley, across the street from the construction of the future home of track and field. All games are open to the public.
