Blue Takes Monday's Scrimmage

Chapel Hill, NC -- After being rained out on Sunday, the Tar Heels took the field on Monday under sunny skies as the Blue squad took a 5-2 win over Navy at Boshamer Stadium. Brandon Martorano's three-run double in the sixth broke a 2-2 tie as Blue pulled away for the win.
Blue scored two runs in the first on Brandon Riley's RBI triple and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Datres. Navy tied the score in the second on a Brendan Illies double and Earl Semper's run-scoring single.Â
Angel Zarate and Earl Semper were the only players with multiple base hits. Zarate was 2-2 with one run scored while Semper was 2-3 with one RBI.Â
Cooper Criswell and Caden O'Brien were the two starters. Angel Zarate, Austin Love, Taylor Sugg, Trevor Gay and Joey Lancellotti also saw action on the mound.
Carolina's next full scrimmage will be on Friday.
