Carolina Hosts Pitt For First Home ACC Series

For Bark at the Bosh, you are invited to bring your dog to the ballpark to enjoy this great matchup. The first 150 dogs and dog owners will receive Carolina bone-shaped tennis balls.

A ticket will be required for each person accompanying a dog attending this event. All UNC baseball season ticket holders, students, faculty, and staff can pick up complimentary tickets at the entrance behind the 3rd base grandstands starting at 4:30 pm on gameday.

Important Information
- Fans with dogs will only be allowed to enter Boshamer Stadium through the entrance behind the 3rd base grandstands. Seating will be available in sections 116 & 117. Dogs will not be permitted in any other areas of the ballpark.
- All dogs must have current vaccinations.
- Dog owners assume responsibility for the actions of their dogs while at this event. All dogs must be kept on a fixed leash (no longer than 6 ft.) at all times. No retractable leashes.
- This game may be crowded and the weather could be warm. Please ensure your dog is comfortable in these types of conditions before planning to attend this event.
PITTSBURGH SERIES HISTORY
• In the relatively short series history between the Panthers and the Tar Heels, UNC leads 7-5 in all-time meetings that first began in 2014.Â
• UNC has outscored the Panthers 69-49 in the 12 games they have played, but six meetings have been decided by two runs or less.Â
• Last year the Heels won the first two games of the series before dropping the third. They outscored Pitt 17-14 in three games, winning the first two games by a combined five runs.Â

• The Tar Heel bullpen has been lights out since starting its series against Louisville. Six Tar Heel pitchers have combined to work 18.2 innings and have a combined ERA of 0.48. They have 19 strikeouts, one earned run, and have only given up seven hits. All six pitchers have held their opponents at, or under, a .200 batting average.Â
• Rodney Hutchison pitched a complete game shutout against NC A&T on Tuesday, March 13 for the first time since Zac Gallen did so against VT in 2016. Tied a career high with 7 strikeouts.Â
• Josh Hiatt has not given up a run or earned run in 8 appearances this year. Dating back to last year, he has not allowed a run or earned run in 24 of his last 25 appearances.
• Over the last two games, the Tar Heel pitching staff has been phenominal. In 18 innings of work against NC A&T and Gardner-Webb, five pitchers have combined to give up seven hits, one earned run and 16 strikeouts while only giving up three walks. They have a combined ERA of 0.50.
• Cody Roberts continues to be a bright spot for the Heels at the plate. Over the last five games, he is hitting .474 and leads the team in slugging percentage (.526), on base percentage (.524) and runs scored (4) and has a 5 game hitting streak.
