Tar Heels Shutout Georgetown 4-0

The Tar Heels traveled to Washington, D.C. this weekend to take on Georgetown in its second spring game of 2018 where they beat the Hoyas 4-0. With both teams coming in to the game 1-0 on the season, the Tar Heel offense once again came to life as they scored four goals in both games so far this season.
The Tar Heels took a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime with first half goals from Jelani Pieters, John Nelson and Gio Montesdeoca.
In the second half, Mauricio Pineda added one more while the defense combined with James Pyle and Drew Romig secured the clean sheet.
Pieters and Pineda both have two goals on the spring season as they both scored in the first game against Clemson.
The 2-0 Tar Heels will host Virginia in its next game on April 7 at 2 p.m. at the grass fields at Finley South.
