Tar Heels Host Virginia Sunday
March 31, 2018 | Men's Tennis
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The fifth-ranked North Carolina men's tennis team will host Atlantic Coast Conference-rival Virginia Sunday at 1 p.m. at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
The Tar Heels are 13-4 overall and 4-1 in ACC play following a 4-3 loss to top-ranked Wake Forest on Wednesday. Virginia, ranked 37th, is 11-6 overall and 4-2 in ACC play coming off a 4-3 loss at No. 21 Duke on Friday.
The meeting is a rematch of the 2017 NCAA Championship match, which Virginia won 4-2 in Athens, Ga., last May. It was UNC's first-ever appearance in the championship.
Spectators in attendance at Cone-Kenfield on Sunday will get more than just a great ACC men's tennis matchup: Kids can take part in an Easter egg hunt after the doubles point, and there will be free pizza, as well as concessions for sale. There is no charge for admission.
