UNC Tops Morgan State In NCAA First Round

CHAPEL HILL - No. 2 seed North Carolina picked up a 4-0 victory over Morgan State in the first round of the NCAA Team Championship from Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
Top ranked Carolina (27-3) won the doubles point and never looked back in topping the Lady Bears, champions of the MEAC.
Marika Akkerman, Jessie Aney and Chloe Ouellet-Pizer earned straight-set victories to secure the win.
The Tar Heels will face SEC foe Mississippi State on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winner advances to the NCAA Championship Round of 16 in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Bulldogs defeated William & Mary, 4-2, on Friday morning in the first match of the day in Chapel Hill.
