North Carolina opened spring semester competition on Sunday at the Penn State Dual Meets in University Park, Pa. The Tar Heel women went 2-3 and the men were 1-4 against a competitive field that included matchups with Columbia, Penn, Yale, Haverford and the host Nittany Lions.

The Tar Heels return to the state of Pennsylvania this weekend to compete at the Philadelphia Invitational, hosted by Temple, Jan. 19-20.
