Blue And Navy Battle To An 8-8 Tie On Thursday

Chapel Hill, NC - The Navy squad jumped out to an 8-1 lead before Blue fought back to an 8-8 tie in a seven-inning scrimmage on Thursday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Blue outhit Navy 9-8 but was hurt by five errors to one for Navy.
Will Schroeder was 3-4 at the plate for Blue, with Caleb Roberts going 1-3 with four RBI and two runs scored. Jake Holtzapple was 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored, and Dylan Harris was 2-4 with one run scored to lead Navy.
Aaron Sabato, Eric Grintz and Caleb Roberts each blasted home runs, with Mikey Madej adding a triple. Harris, Zarate, Schroeder and Tyler Causey each had a double.
Seven pitchers saw action: Kyle Mott, Bennett Nance, Chris Joyner, Stephen Pelli, Gage Gillian, Shawn Rapp and Evan Reifert.
Carolina will travel to Campbell for a 5:00 p.m. game on Friday.
