October 26, 2019 | Baseball
Chapel Hill, NC -Â The Blue squad rallied from a 5-3 deficit on Friday with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and final inning to take a 6-5 win over Navy and square the Fall World Series at one game apiece, setting up a winner-take-all Game III on Saturday.
Blue took an early 2-0 lead in the first on Jake Holtzapple's bases loaded walk and a fielder's choice. Navy then got on the board with a bases-loaded error in the second. Caleb Roberts countered with a solo home run in the third to give Blue a 3-1 lead.
Navy stormed back with three runs in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead. Mikey Madej had a run scoring single, then Patrick Alvarez drove in a run with a double before Aaron Sabato scored on a wild pitch. Navy went up 5-3 in the top of the seventh on Mikey Madej's double.
Clemente Inclan and Dylan Harris both singled to start Blue's last-inning rally. Inclan would score on a wild pitch before an Angel Zarate double put men on second and third with one out. Danny Serretti then drove in both runs with a game-winning single.Â
Austin Elliott and Max Alba were the two starters. Chris Joyner, Joseph Charles, Will Sandy and Gage Gillian threw in relief.
Saturday's series finale will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Bosh.
