Pineda, Skahan & Kelly Named All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Led by first-team midfielder Mauricio Pineda, North Carolina had three players named to the 2019 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Team on Wednesday, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Jack Skahan and Jeremy Kelly joined Pineda as All-ACC selections as they were selected as second-team midfielders.
Pineda, a native of Bolingbrooke, Illinois, has been an anchor for the Tar Heel midfield for the last four years and is a Senior CLASS Award Finalist. The senior captain has played in every game during his last four years and has been named to an All-ACC team each season, including a first-team member in 2018. Pineda is second on the team with five goals scored and third on the team in total points with 12. He also leads the team in shots (52), shots on goal (23) and game-winning goals (3).
A senior from Memphis, Tennessee, Skahan is fourth on the team in points (11) with three goals and five assists. A 2018 All-ACC third-team selection, the explosive forward is a three-year starter for the Heels and has recorded 12 goals and 12 assists in 71 career games.
Kelly, a Chapel Hill, N.C., native, is a three-year starter for the Heels and a key member of the 2019 team playing roles on both defense and midfield. The senior recorded four assists in 17 games so far this season, and has recorded six goals and 12 assists in 79 career games.
