Perry and Schechter Earn LPGA Tour Card

PINEHURST, N.C. - Former Tar Heels Katherine Perry and Maia Schechter earned their LPGA Tour card following the conclusion of the 2019 LPGA Q-Series at the Pinehurst Golf Resort on Saturday afternoon.
Perry, a 2014 Carolina graduate, tied for eleventh place with a total score of 570 (-2). Her final stage of the qualifying series was highlighted in rounds three through five, in which she recorded scores of 68-69-69. Recently, Perry tied for sixth place with a total score of 274 (-10) at the seventh-annual LPGA Volunteers of America Classic hosted by the Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas. Her impressive performance included a professional career low of 66 in the third round.
Following close behind, Schechter finished tied for 20th with a total score of 572 (E). Notably, her third round 66 was tied for the best round of the day and tied for the third best round of the 2019 LPGA Q-Series. Schechter has made a number of appearances on the Symetra Tour, most recently tying for eighth place at the Symetra Tour Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida with an 11-under-par 277 (-11) and a low round of 68.
Perry and Schechter as well as the other golfers who finished in the top-45 at the end of Q-Series received LPGA Membership in Category 14 on the 2020 LPGA Priority List. Competitors who finished outside of the top 20Â received Symetra Tour Membership in Category C on the 2020 Symetra Tour Priority List.
