Diamond Heels To The Dominican Republic
November 7, 2019 | Baseball
The North Carolina baseball team spent its fall break quite differently than most college students. Instead of taking time off or going home they went to the Dominican Republic to give back to others, teach the game of baseball with SCORE International and play a little baseball themselves against some local independent teams.
"It was an incredible experience for our players and coaches. We visited a girl's orphanage, held a baseball clinic for over 100 kids, toured Santa Domingo and provided food bags for people in a local village," said head coach Mike Fox. "The trip was all that we wanted it to be as we went there to serve and thus we all saw just how blessed we are. It was impactful in so many ways."
