Carolina Notes
• The loss drops UNC to 6-2 this season.
• The 25-point margin of defeat is UNC's second-largest in Smith Center history (29 vs. Duke on 1/31/2002, 58-87).
• The 49 points are the third-fewest by UNC in Smith Center history (46 vs. NC State on 2/24/2015 and 48 vs. Boston College on 2/19/2011).
• Carolina shot 27.4 percent, its lowest ever in the Smith Center (previous .279 vs. Iowa on 12/3/2014).
• Ohio State out-scored UNC by 23 points in the second half (45-22), the largest margin ever in a half against UNC in the Smith Center (previous 22 twice; in the second half by Temple on 2/21/1988 and the second half by Maryland on 1/8/1997).
• Carolina shot 28.6 percent in the first half and 25.9 percent in the second. It's the first time UNC shot under 30 percent in both halves since the Michigan State loss in Portland, Ore., on 11/26/17.
• Cole Anthony led UNC with 15 points and was the only Tar Heel in double figures. It was the first time only one Tar Heel scored in double figures since the loss to Michigan State on 11/26./17 (Theo Pinson had 16).
• UNC is 10-11 all-time in the Challenge, including 5-5 against top-10 opponents and 7-10 vs. ranked teams.
• This was the 17th non-conference loss in the Smith Center in 224 games.
• Armando Bacot left the game with an ankle injury with 12:48 to play in the first half and did not return.
