Mulligan Highlights UNC Performances At Junior Olympics

Six Tar Heels competed at the Junior Olympics in Denver over the weekend, with freshman James Mulligan providing the highlight. Mulligan, from Santa Cruz, Calif., placed 14th in junior men's foil, in a field of 318.
On Friday in the junior men's epee event, freshman Jared Cohen placed 120th and sophomore Andrew Fulmer 245th in a field of 344 competitors.
Saturday was Mulligan's performance in the junior men's foil event, with freshman Anders Hartmark also competing and placing T155th.
Also on Saturday, freshman Bridget Becchina competed in junior women's sabre, finishing tied for 97th in a field of 196.
On Sunday, sophomore Bernard Witek placed 54th in a junior men's sabre field of 265.
Next up for the Tar Heels is a trip to Boston College for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships Feb. 23 and 24.
