Six Tar Heels competed at the Junior Olympics in Denver over the weekend, with freshman James Mulligan providing the highlight. Mulligan, from Santa Cruz, Calif., placed 14^th in junior men's foil, in a field of 318.

On Friday in the junior men's epee event, freshman Jared Cohen placed 120^th and sophomore Andrew Fulmer 245^th in a field of 344 competitors.

Saturday was Mulligan's performance in the junior men's foil event, with freshman Anders Hartmark also competing and placing T155^th.

Also on Saturday, freshman Bridget Becchina competed in junior women's sabre, finishing tied for 97^th in a field of 196.

On Sunday, sophomore Bernard Witek placed 54^th in a junior men's sabre field of 265.

Next up for the Tar Heels is a trip to Boston College for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships Feb. 23 and 24.
