Hislop Named EAGL Specialist of the Week for Third-Consecutive Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Carolina junior Khazia Hislop was named East Atlantic Gymnastics League Specialist of the Week for the eighth week of competition Tuesday morning. Hislop remains one of the top gymnasts in the league, being the only gymnast to earn NQS 9.850+ on multiple events.
Last Friday against the University of New Hampshire, Hislop continued her streak of placing in the top 5 for 15 straight events. In her time at Carolina, Hislop has placed in the top 5 on all 87 events she has competed except for four. By adding another first place finish, the Concord, Mass. native reached a team-leading 11 finishes on the top spot of the podium.
On vault, Hislop placed second in the competition and scored 9.875. For the fifth consecutive week Hislop scored above 9.850+ and placed on the podium. She leads the EAGL on vault with an NQS of 9.870. On beam, Hislop placed fifth with a 9.775. She sits at second in the league on beam with an NQS of 9.825.
Hislop matched her career high on floor with a 9.950, her highest score since March 24, 2018, at last year's EAGL Championships. She leads the EAGL on floor with an NQS of 9.885. She remains in seventh on floor all time in Carolina's record book.
