Walker Tied For Seventh, Tar Heels Tied For Third

BROWNS SUMMIT, NC – At the conclusion of the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summit, NC, junior Brynn Walker finds herself in a tie for 7th place and the team sits in a tie for 3rd place.
Walker's 1-under-par 71 was highlighted by three straight birdies on the back-nine.
Freshmen Nicole Lu and Jennifer Zhou posted the next lowest scores for the Tar Heels on the 6,305 yards par-72 Bryan Park Champions Course. Zhou recorded three birdies on her back-nine en route to an even-par 72, and is tied for 13th. Then, earning three birdies in her round, Lu scored a 1-over-par 73, which places her in a tie for 16th.
Ava Bergner carded a 3-over-par 75, and is tied for 39th. Kelly Whaley shot a four-over-par 76, and is tied for 46th. Mariana Ocano, who is competing as an individual, recorded an 8-over-par 80, and is tied for 77th.
The Wake Forest University Demon Deacons currently lead the tournament at 14-under-par. The Deacons tied their school record for the lowest team single round.
The second round of the Bryan National Collegiate is set to tee-off at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday for the Tar Heels.
