Three Tar Heels Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Brynn Walker, Mariana Ocano and Jennifer Zhou have earned the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar honors for the 2018-19 season, the WGCA announced Monday. This the third honor for Walker and Ocano, and the first for Zhou.

Walker is a rising senior from St. David's, Pennsylvania, who is majoring in Media and Journalism. This is Walker's second academic honor of the season after being named to the All-ACC Academic team in June.

Ocano is a rising senior from St. Petersburg, Florida, who is majoring in Business.

Also a member of the 2018-19 All-ACC Academic team, Zhou is a rising sophomore from Kunming, China who is majoring in Business Administration.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
