Chapel Hill -- North Carolina kicked off its 2019 campaign with a 4-1 exhibition win over Stetson on Friday night at its new, on-campus soccer stadium.
Lucas del Rosario sparked the offense in the first half by drawing a penalty in the 44th minute. Senior Mauricio Pineda had his penalty blocked, but he followed up the save and tapped it in to give the Tar Heels a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The Heels tacked on three more goals in the second half, led by freshman Cameron Fisher's brace, to take the 4-1 win. Alex Rose also recorded his first goal of the season in the second half off a beautiful assist from Julian Hinojosa.
The Heels will be back in action on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 p.m. as they take on NC State in its final home exhibition of the season.
