September 12, 2019 | Baseball
Chapel Hill, NC - The North Carolina Tar Heels held their first scrimmage of the Fall on a sweltering afternoon at Boshamer Stadium with the Navy squad taking a 2-0 win over Blue in a brief five-inning affair. The scrimmage was held on a day that saw the 96 degree temperature tie the all-time record for the Triangle.
Navy scored both of their runs in the fourth inning. Mikey Madej drove in the first run with a double to right center before Dylan Harris drilled an RBI double. Harris was 2-2 at the plate, the only player with multiple base hits. Will Stewart also had a double.
Joey Lancellotti and Austin Elliott were the starters, with Caleb Cozart and Joseph Charles throwing in relief.
The Tar Heels will hold their next closed scrimmage on Friday.
