Tar Heels Add Brown To Wrestling Roster

CHAPEL HILL --- Carolina Wrestling announced Thursday the addition of freshman Noland Brown to the 2019-20 wrestling roster. Brown spent the past football season as a member of the Tar Heel football team. He will continue to be a part of both programs in 2020.Â
Brown attended Swain County High School, where he served as a captain for both the wrestling and football teams. He went 83-12 over his high school wrestling career, winning a 1A state championship as a heavyweight in his senior season. Off of that campaign, he was selected as 1A's Most Outstanding Wrestler.Â
The Bryson City, North Carolina native also competed in four seasons of track and field. His father, Robbie, played football at Western Carolina.Â
